Kapha dosha is the combination of water and earth elements. Of the three doshas, this type comes with a reputation that may be most frequently misunderstood. Associated with a sense of slowness and more solid presence, Kapha can certainly create problems such as obesity and depression if it becomes out of balance. Keeping Kapha in balance will help to maintain energy and overall good health.

In a physical sense, those who identify Kapha as their primary dosha often have a strong build. They’re the friends or family members whose presence makes you feel secure. They have a strength and reliability about them. In excess, Kapha can cause physical ailments like obesity, diabetes, sleep apnea and depression.

Emotionally, Kapha dosha represents a thoughtful and loyal individual who does well with routine and familiar structure. This dosha type is the most likely to stick with the same job, relationship, house and friendship for many years.
