Drinking a smoothie is a quick and easy way to refuel after a power yoga class. After your practice, it’s important to rehydrate, especially if you practice in a heated room. Smoothies are a great choice, as you can combine many ingredients into one convenient and delicious format.

What are the best ingredients to include in a post-workout smoothie?

Turmeric — Studies suggest that turmeric may reduce inflammation in the body, which can be particularly valuable after a hard workout or power yoga practice!

Avocado — To repair muscles and keep your metabolism running optimally, add ¼–½ avocado to your smoothie! Loaded with healthy fats, avocado will also add a delicious thick texture to your recipe.

Spinach — A terrific plant-based source of iron, adding a handful or two of spinach can up the nutritional value of your smoothie. Compared to other leafy greens, it also has a flavor that can be easily hidden.

Banana — To replenish your glycogen stores after your yoga practice, add in healthy carbs like a banana!
