Tanpura Drone, Now at Your Fingertips

I’ve been droning out to the Tanpura Droid app for about 3 months now and I’ve really enjoyed it. I incorporated a powerful and beautiful focus companion for my meditation, writing, singing, drawing and chanting practice — the musical drone.

Musically speaking, a drone is one or more notes that provides a resonant harmonic foundation upon which our practice can unfold. The sustained soothing sound creates calming waves of harmonizing vibrations. The tanpura faithfully drones its two notes quietly in the background, steadily keeping the heartbeat of the song.
