Yoga to Celebrate the Earth
For this Earth celebrating practice, you’ll need fresh air and your favorite meditation bolster, mat, or blanket. This exercise may take as long or as little time as you like. Just show up and prepare to settle into yourself while being outside with the spirit to create a peaceful relationship between you and the earth.
You are a high-octane being of mind, body, and speech. Think of these elements as the triad needed for experiential living. When they are all in alignment, you will become the best version of yourself to serve the planet. I’ve created this patchwork practice to honor the mind (breathwork), body (asanas), and speech (mantras) while using an earth element as your focal point of intention. The five earth elements — earth, water, air, fire, and spirit — are widely honored in Eastern traditions, religions, and cultures.
Consider also working with one of yoga’s yamas, the five precepts for living ethically to frame your days with its corresponding breath work, asana, and mantras as it speaks to you on this day. Or spread out the practice over hours, days, or weeks. It’s flexible as this is your time to connect, honor, and hold space for yourself as a multidimensional being in exchange for the treasure of being on the planet now.
